DevLog #1

Well, another Ludum Dare has begun and once again I am not happy with the theme.

STUCK IN A LOOP

My brain was "stuck in a loop", while I was brainstorming some ideas with my family.

After a few ideas were finally thrown into the garbage, I settled on a pretty simple game concept.

Have the player travel in a loop in a pattern on the screen, in order to advance to the next pattern, she must shoot all of the triggers that are around the pattern in the correct order. Sometimes these triggers will not be in the correct sequence and you will need to watch for the correct one to hit. If you hit one out of order you will have to start the pattern over again. The player is equipped with a laser that you can shoot, but instead of being able to "aim" the laser, you need to wait until the laser sight has rotated to the correct location for you to hit it. You can shoot the laser for as long as you want and it will continue to follow the line of sight, but you have a limited amount of power for each pattern and it is continually draining as you move along the pattern.

For the game i will use some very simple shapes and particles, and some effects I picked up from GDQuest tutorials.
